Session led by Pete Wilkes.
Interpret data from last year’s results and identify the gaps.
Cross reference these gaps with the current cohort data and focus in on the specific areas of need.
Questions – what does this tell us about what the children need?
How is our current practice enabling us to address these gaps?
What do we need to change in order to ensure our children have the best chance of success?
Which children are your VIPs?
Sharing good practice amongst staff – what are we currently doing/did last year that worked well and had an impact?
What does the year 6 timetable look like? Share examples. What is the balance of subjects etc.
Introduction of the SATs plan
4 Key priorities
1 – Raise attainment in Reading, Writing and GPS to – data outlined in table with last year’s results and this year’s target at ARE and GDS.
2 – Increase parental engagement and understanding of SATs
3 – Develop a Year 6 unity and ‘Can do’ attitude
4 – Put in place a mock SATs week plan and use this information to create a finalised SATs week plan.
What is your view on revision guides? Are we using them? Which ones? How? Do they have an impact? How do we know?
Time to complete plan, share with colleagues and then take back to school to be reviewed by SLT. Specifically consider the interventions and approaches to boosters that have an impact.
