WHPT Primary Writing Moderation Cluster Meeting

Ensuring accurate teacher assessment of writing and consistency within our schools and across all schools in WHPT is a pivotal form of CPD. Hopefully these moderation sessions will provide everything that is needed to equip staff with a range of resources to:

·      Support their own judgements, by providing high-quality, standardised, termly examples of real children’s writing and further extend this resource by adding agreed samples from across the trust;

·      Provide staff with examples of writing that they can annotate in year group clusters using writing standardisation sheets, which can be used to quality assure teacher judgements across the primary schools in our trust;

This will be the second time we have moderated Summer Term writing as a Trust, and it will be interesting to trial using the standardised examples of writing from last year and continue to use Teacher’s Moderation Toolkit. I would really appreciate any feedback at the end of the session.

During the first 10 minutes, I would like to meet everyone together to discuss a structure for the session and share some new materials.

Please could all class teachers bring samples of work for moderation of a WTS, EXS and GDS child. If there is no GDS child in the class, then please bring an extra EXS sample.

Every trust school is expected to take part in the trust moderation.  If you aren’t able to attend, please liaise with Adam Lumley to provide writing samples for the moderation.
